True Love

15 Jul

He said he couldn’t breathe at the thought of losing her
So she held his head under water in the bath tub
And watched till his lungs were filled with the water they bathed in.

He said he couldn’t get her out of his head
So she hammered open his skull
Again and again and again
Until she watched herself being freed from his mind.

He said he couldn’t live without her
So she slit open his throat
Watched herself bleed out of him, pieces of her memories floating amongst his platelets.

He said his heart would break if she ever were to leave him
So she took a knife and stabbed him deep in the chest
As she thought to herself, ‘I’m only making his wildest thoughts come true. Isn’t that what love is all about, anyway?”
